June activities

  • Thursday 7th June we will do a leisurely drive along the Karwyderskraal/Swartriver road practising our Little Brown Jobs identification skills.  Meet at the Onrus Trading Post at 08:00
  • Wednesday 20th June our evening meeting starts at 19:00. Traditionally at our June meeting a couple of members share their birding experiences with us and this year Mike MacNaught, Carl Pohl and John Bowman’s topics range from Winter Migration, Beginners Bird Photography and Ngorongoro & Serengeti – definitely a meeting not to be missed.  Tea and coffee will be served afterwards and visitors are welcome.  Contact Keith Brooke-Sumner 028 313 1633
  • Thursday 21st June we are visiting the Caledon Botanical Gardens, meeting at the Onrus Trading Post at 08:00

Two more important dates to diarize, although only for July are Wednesday 18th –  our annual Quiz – a fun evening with lots of laughs, soup & sherry and Sunday 22nd is time for Mini-Mini-Birding-Big-Day – when experienced birders take the less experienced ones, and also members new to Hermanus, out for a couple of hours, showing them how and where to find and identify the birds of the area.  More details closer to the time.
