Carmine Bee-Eater in de Kelders

‘SA Rare Birds’ report dated 24th December: ” A SOUTHERN CARMINE BEE-EATER has been found in Gansbaai in the Western Cape by local residents Martie and Johan van Dyk.  The GPS coordinates given are S 34*33.181′ en E 019*22.085′ and the address is 53 Cliff Street, De Kelders, just outside Gansbaai.  The bird was present until late yesterday but has not been seen again this morning. However, a search in the area may yield it again. This is a very much out of range bird and somewhat special for those in the Western Cape. Good luck if you are going to try to find it!”
