The activities arranged by the committee for August are:
Thursday 1st: Half day outing to Restonwold farm in the Elgin district. We meet at the Onrus Trading Post at 08:30 to consolidate transport. Afterwards you might want to do some wine tasting, have coffee at one of the farm stalls or join us for a shopping trip to the Elgin Free Range Chicken factory shop!
Sunday 18 – Wednesday 21 August – Fully booked outing to Botterkloof near Stilbaai.
Wednesday 21st at 19:00 – Evening meeting – ‘Turkey Revisited’ – Mike Ford’s presentation on the 3 months he spent at a bird ringing station in Turkey. Visitors are welcome to attend at no charge.

A morning drive along the Hawston View road, meeting at the Onrus Trading Post at 08:30 on Thursday 4th. Bring along a mid-morning snack and drink.
The Life of Birds – a fascinating course presented by Mike Ford on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th from 08:45-12:30 at the Fernkloof hall. The cost is R100 pp which includes course notes and refreshments. Please contact Margie Ogston as soon as possible to enrol. firstname.lastname@example.org
And yet another opportunity to widen your birding knowledge on Sunday 14th July: Mini Mini Birding Big Day – this day is organised to assist novice/keen learners and new members to join with experienced members from 08:00 to 14:00 to enjoy identifying birds within the Hermanus surrounds & learn about the different habitats and then to attend a braai lunch at 14:30 at Fernkloof. Please contact Margie or any other committee member to secure your place.
And finally, a chance to show off your newly gained knowledge at our ANNUAL QUIZ on Wednesday 17th July at 19:00. Our presenter this year is club member Ronnie Hazell. This is a fun evening with soup and sherry served at interval and some small prizes to be won.
